We ate outside on the porch, and although it was hot and humid, it was quite pleasant with the ceiling fans. The menu looked great, and I settled on a brisket grilled cheese with horseradish sauce and fries. It was yummy. My wife had Lobster Bisque, which was also very tasty. We shared blackberry cobbler ala mode for dessert, which was the best. We loved the atmosphere and food. The service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely go back, though it's an hour and a half away.
Everything about this restaurant is so very nice. Food is great. Decor and service top notch. If you have never eaten there it is worth the drive. You will simply enjoy being cared for in style and with fun. 5 star out of 5.
This was a place recommended to us by our Real Estate lady . We really enjoyed everything & the ambience. The waitress was friendly & accommodating.
Never disappointed at SYBILL'S. The food is excellent , the waitstaff is excellent and friendly! And while I'm at it, their gift shop is lovely with unusual things.
I would normally probably ding a restaurant a star for overcooked coconut shrimp and salmon, but even with it, the restaurant is overall a five star experience, so I leave the five star with a caveat about the coconut shrimp and salmon. I visited the restaurant with two friends on a weekday evening. You can make reservations on their website, though we did it by phone because they are old-fashioned and like looking up telephone numbers in *telephone books* of all things! The restaurant is impeccably detailed and pretty, though not contemporary or modern. The tables were close enough together that the two elderly people with me were quite bothered by the background noise. I didn't find the noise quite as bothersome, but if I wanted it to be quiet and intimate, outside probably would be better. Also, I think that it was just a couple of people at certain tables generating most of the noise, so it may not always be an issue. The walls are decorated with artwork which is for sale, and honestly, the artwork is very fairly priced. If l had been shopping for artwork, I wouldn't have hesitated to buy one of them, many of which was priced under $100. The complimentary bread was warm and delicious. The butter seemed kind of salty, but it probably made it even tastier. We did not have appetizers, but we did have salads with our meals. The specialty salads come with a $5 up charge over the house salad. However, the size of the specialty salad was a little larger as well, so it might be worth the cost. One of our table ordered the salmon special, deeming that the special of the day was always good. We also had salmon puttanesca and the coconut shrimp. Of these dishes, the coconut shrimp looked obviously overdone and quite dark. The server explained that this had been the case for the previous six months and she assumed that the breading had changed. However, it also tasted dry and overdone, so I think it's really a matter of not taking it out in time. The salmon was also just a tiny bit on the overdone side as well, though actually the leftover salmon the next day were better. The coconut cream pie was a generous and delicious piece. Although there were at least five desserts that I thought were tempting off their extensive menu, I would definitely order it again. The server, Nicole, was absolutely wonderful, attentive in the right way and gave helpful advice on what to order when asked, such as what substitutions could be made, or which desserts might be better to take home if we couldn't finish something. Overall, I would definitely go again, especially for a special occasion, but I wouldn't order the shrimp or salmon again, at least not without some amendment to the cooking style.
What a great place to stop on our way back to Ohio! We were ready for a delicious meal & we were not disappointed. Atmosphere was festive & the food was delicious. Our meals were presented in a lovely fashion. I had the sesame & panko crusted Chilean sea bass with lemon caper sauce. The best I have ever had. Our waiter, Brody, was friendly, informative & hustled. His recommendations were spot on! My husband had a filet & finished his meal with raspberry bread pudding à la mode. Yum!
This is such a cute little family-owned place! It was close to our hotel and the service was excellent. It was so special that the owner was there to greet guests. Three of the best dishes at our table were the Cajun shrimp pasta, the surf & turf pasta, and the chicken genovese. We were short on time, but if we ever come this way again, we hope to try some of their cocktails and browse the gift shop.
Had the 6oz filet-it was cooked perfectly as ordered. Highly recommend the blackberry cobbler.
What a great experience here. We had an overnight trip with the St. Louis chapter of the Model T club. Luckily out trip planner knew about this place and got out group a reservation for 20 on a Saturday night. The staff was on their gasme and got out drink and appetizer order in quickly. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass (smooth and buttery) and i opted for the Prime Rib (med rare and savory) My daughter and granddaughter split the lasagna (plenty big enough to do so) Our group was treated very well and I hope we can go back sometime to try something else. A very nice place and far more elegant than we expected. Thank you for a great evening!
